A Little History of Us
Chuck Ginsburg and Craig Beardsley are A Racers Edge. With a combined ski industry experience of over 50 years, Craig and Chuck have the commitment and passion necessary to make this shop thrive. Together they know the ins and outs of the ski industry, and can handle any obstacle thrown at them.
Chuck
Chuck Ginsburg has extensive experience in the ski industry dating back to the fall of 1976, beginning at Hi Tempo Ski Shop in St. Paul Minnesota. After three seasons at Hi Tempo, he decided to pursue a career in the ski industry. He came to make Colorado his home in 1979, and was employed by A Racer’s Edge Ski Shop in Breckenridge. Chuck began as a hard goods salesman, and quickly became the department manager in charge of purchasing. When the shop was sold in 1985, Chuck obtained employment at The Knorr House in Breck, and became the hard goods department manager. Chuck worked at The Knorr House through late 1990, until A Racer’s Edge re-opened in 1991. Chuck returned and started where he had left off, purchasing for the hard goods and retail departments, as well as managing the rental and tuning departments.
In the fall of 1995, Chuck left A Racer’s Edge to take a position with Dynastar Ski as a sales and technical representative for the Colorado territory. Chuck became very successful at Dynastar, increasing sales year after year, and making Colorado the largest volume territory in the country. Chuck worked with Dynastar until the fall of 1998, at which point A Racer’s Edge brought him back. Chuck became the general manager, responsible for all aspects of the store.
In 2003, Chuck took a position with Specialty Sports Venture and soon was in charge of all the hard goods and rental coordination for 23 stores in the Vail/Beaver Creek area. This included inventory and management 23,000 sets of ski and snowboard equipment.
After 31 years in the ski industry, Chuck decided to join his wife in their real estate investment/management company. Together they doubled the size of the business in 2 years. Missing the ski industry nearly the whole time, Chuck has now decided to return and open a new A Racer’s Edge.
